Charlene Hope Nicholas (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Charlene Hope Nicholas, daughter of the late Charles Hood and Augusta Myra (Shor) Estes was born on October 14, 1940 in Buckeye, AZ and departed this life on July 22, 2021 in Buffalo, MO. At the time of her passing she was 80 years, nine months, and seven days of age.
Charlene was raised and attended school in Buckeye and Arlington AZ. After graduating, she became a Certified Nurses Assistant and continued her career until retiring for her health. She was united in marriage to Roger “Terry” Nicholas and they spent 21 wonderful years together before his passing in April of 2021. Charlene was a loving wife and mother, her family was her pride and joy. She enjoyed taking her family to Church and would often take them to Hardee’s for lunch afterward. She was an active and loving grandma, making trips to Silver Dollar City and always having lots of fun. She loved Jesus faithfully, read her bible every day, and was an active member of the Buffalo Freewill Baptist Church. Charlene and Terry volunteered for the Meals on Wheel and Engles Center for over 20 years. She also enjoyed gardening, reading Louis Lamar books, and showing any visitors her family photos.
Charlene was preceded in death by her husband Terry; her parents; two sons, Raymond Brown and William Brown; one daughter, Charlene Brown; one brother, Russel; two sisters, Georgia and Jerry; and three grandchildren, Jacob R. Brown, Jeremy Baker, and Jessica Brown. She is survived by one son, Brent Brown; two daughters, Charlotte Baker and Christine Flores; four stepchildren, Karrie, Karen, Kenneth, and Kimberly; one sister, Treva; 15 grandchildren, Joshua Brown, Joanna Ritzheimer, Jacob Brown, Julia Brown, Jasmine Brown, Joshua Burroughs, Chasity Drew, Maria Jenkins, Melissa Ley, Skileen Landers, Desiree Skinner, Ernest Brown, William Brown, Levi Baker, and Jennifer Ferraro; and several great-grandchildren. She also leaves other family members and many friends who will all truly miss her.
Funeral services will be at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home in Buffalo, Missouri
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. right before the service.
