Charles Alford's Obituary
Charles Ray Alford, Jr., son of Charles Ray and Bonnie King Alford, was born March 18, 1953, in Galveston, Texas. He departed this life Sunday, April 20, 2008, in his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of fifty-five years, one month, and two days. His mother and a brother, Joseph Alford, preceded him in death. Charles is survived by his companion of sixteen years, Cindy Kennedy, of Lebanon, Missouri; four daughters, Charla Alford, of Des Moines, Iowa, Hannah Haney, and her husband, Scott, of Tunas, Missouri, Dannielle Sien, and her husband, Randy, and Tina Kendall, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a step-son, Jason Hainline, and his wife, Laura, of Des Moines, Iowa; a number of grandchildren; his father and stepmother, Charles and Margot Alford, of Purdon, Texas; four brothers, Robert Alford, and his wife, Susie, of Lebanon, Missouri, Patrick Alford, and his wife, Sarah, of Orange, Texas, Jerry Alford, and his wife, Mary, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Kendall Alford, and his wife, Katie, of Groesbeck, Texas; four sisters, Linda McGowan, of St. Louis, Missouri, Della Kimmel, and Theresa King, and her husband, Donald, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and Amanda Alford, of Purdon, Texas; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in Galveston, Texas and then served his country faithfully in the United States Army. After his time in the military, he returned to Texas where he worked as a truck driver for his father. He moved to Houston, Texas for a few years, before coming to Missouri where he worked for Prime Trucking in Springfield, Missouri for several years. In the late 1980’s, he was injured at work and became disabled. In his spare time he liked being outdoors where his favorite activities were fishing and hunting. He was a very caring person who was always willing to help those in need. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren. Charles will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2008, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the Dotson Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Return to top
