Charles Arthur Bean's Obituary
, 67 Charles ‘Charlie’ Arthur Bean, age 67 of Bolivar, passed away at 10:35 PM Friday, January 30, 2009 at the Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar after a short illness. He was born in Bolivar on October 8, 1941, the son of Warner Elery Bean and Minnie Jewel (Hembree) Bean. Charlie grew up in Bolivar, but spent time in California, Oregon, Kansas and the Military. He moved back to Bolivar and married Dorothy Choate on August 15, 1973 and started a family. Charlie worked for Bill's Feed, driving a delivery truck, work for Max Roweton on the farm, worked part time driving a truck for MFA and he had worked for several years as a truck driver for the Polk County Road and Bridge Department. When he retired, he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, drinking coffee with his friends and sitting on the porch watching the world go by. Surviving is his wife Dorothy Bean of the home; a daughter, Weasie Stalker and husband Robert of Bolivar; A step-son, Thomas Thrasher of Windsor, MO and a step-daughter Shelia Hampshire of Sedalia, MO; his adopted kids, Niki & Tom Sokolik, Karen & Wes Harden. Ashley & Tim Poterbin and Cindy Woodmansee & Frank Floyd. also two sisters, Wanda Hulett of Bolivar and Marie Thomson of Fair Hope, AL. Eleven Grandchildren; Ashlee, Brionna, Emily, Dakota, Jared, Bella, Jacob, Alexis, Nick, Ben and Anthony. his adopted Grandkids; Charlie, Thomas, Zackary, Morgan, Rylie, Jason, Michael and Evan. 2 great grandchildren, Malisa and Haylee. A memorial service will be held later at the Bolivar City Cemetery under the direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar. Return to top
