Charles D. Manns (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Charles David Manns, son of Charles Junior and Minnie Arlene Canida Manns, was born November 19, 1944, in Sedalia, Missouri. He departed this life Thursday, July 22, 2010, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of sixty-five years, eight months and three days.
On August 8, 1964, in Kansas City, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Carol Ann Anderson and to this union three sons were born. Together they shared the past forty-five years of marriage.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Manns of the home; three sons, Kevin Manns of Overland Park, Kansas, David Manns, Jr. of Shawnee, Kansas and Michael Manns and his wife Tina of Spring Hill, Kansas; four grandchildren, Zachary, Melissa, Sara and Rachel Manns; three brothers; two sisters; one half-brother; and three half-sisters; one uncle; two aunts; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Charles was raised in Sedalia, Missouri, and Kansas City, Missouri. He later moved to Merriam, Kansas, where he met and married his wife. Together they moved to Shawnee, Kansas, where they raised their boys. Charles worked for Smith and Loveless Inc. of Lenexa, Kansas, in the steel fabrication business. He retired as Vice President of the local Steel Workers Union. He and Carol retired to the Lake of the Ozarks in 2003. They were both members of the Elks Lodge in Warsaw, Missouri.
In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and wood crafting. He made friends wherever he went and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and a caring neighbor. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends.
