Charles Deckard (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Charles Frank Deckard, son of Ulysses and Darlene Schickner Deckard, was born September 8, 1966, in Houston, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, October 4, 2014, in his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of forty-eight years, and twenty-six days.
He was preceded in death by his father; a brother-in-law, Jeff Smith; and a nephew, Ricky Lynn Hazel.
Charles is survived by two daughters, Brianna Deckard, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Caitlyn Deckard, of Stoutland, Missouri; his mother, Darlene Deckard, of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother, Ray Deckard, and his wife, Shelley, of the State of Missouri; eight sisters, Janie Martinez, of Kansas City, Kansas, Judy Small, of Omaha, Nebraska, Wanda Mead, of Burlington, North Carolina, Deanna Miller, and her husband, Kerry, Brenda Kimrey, and her husband, Eddie, all of Lebanon, Missouri, Juanita Smith, of Rockaway, New Jersey, Joy Chambers, of Rolla, Missouri, Angela Innes, and her husband, Rich, of Brentwood, Tennessee; a number of nieces and nephews; an uncle, Wallace Deckard, and his wife, Dorothy, of Tonganoxie, Kansas; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in the Lynchburg community, and graduated from Plato High School. He began working as an automobile mechanic in Waynesville, and then took training to become a certified truck mechanic. He was currently employed as a supervisor for Starnes Auto.
Charles professed his faith in Christ early in his life at Mount Carney Church.
In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were fishing and hunting. He also liked watching football and car races. He always dreamed of living in the tropics. His children and family were very important to him and he enjoyed having his family around him.
Charles was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, and nephew, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his forty-eight years.
A memorial has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
