Charles DeGraffenreid (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Charles Wade DeGraffenreid, age 89 of Bolivar, Missouri passed away at his home Monday morning, October 22nd, 2012 surrounded by his family.
Charles was born July 31, 1923 in Aldrich, Missouri, the son of Charles Ceibert and Genie Alice Coffey DeGraffenreid. Charles was the 10th of 11 children, which all preceded him in death.
Charles met and married the love of his life, Dorothy May Bates on July 31, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri. To this union was born six sons.
Charles was saved and baptized at Mt. Gilead Methodist Church in Bolivar, Missouri. He currently was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Bolivar, and enjoyed The Traveler’s Sunday School Class.
Charles began his career with International Harvester with DeGraffenreid Truck and Implement Company in 1957. He was Sales Manager at Vestal Equipment and retired to his farm in 1984 where he loved raising beef cattle. He also loved his annual trip to Texas to go fishing with his five sons.
Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife Dorothy of 66 years, a son Dr. Ron DeGraffenreid and two grandsons, James and Shawn DeGraffenreid.
Charles is survived by his five sons, Kelly and his wife Donna of Monett, Missouri, Terry and his wife Brenda of Cassville, Missouri, Jerry and his wife Marian of Forsyth, Missouri, Rick and his wife Alexis of Ava, Missouri and Randy and his wife Linda of Pilot Point, Texas. Eleven grandchildren, Stacy and David DeSutter, Shane and Mindy DeGraffenreid, Laura and Jason Simac, Terry Lynn DeGraffenreid Brattin and Mike Brattin, Rob Brattin, Shannon and Wes Culver, Ryan DeGraffenreid, Baron and Tina DeGraffenreid, Kya and Mark Wheeler, Brad and Sarah Wilkerson, and Natalie DeGraffenreid, Nineteen great grandchildren, John T., William, Chloe May, Charlie, Allie, Emma, Cameron, Bentley, Reagan, Jayce, Ellyson, Joshua, Cooper, Jaydee Kate, Madysen, Mason, Dakota, Haley, Ryder and many nieces and nephews.
