Charles F.'s Obituary
Charles Franklin Carter, Sr., son of Ralph Eugene and Mary Lou Dudley Carter, was born October 31, 1952, in Marshfield, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, January 27, 2006, in his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of fifty-three years, two months, and twenty-six days. On October 25, 1982, he was united in marriage to Nancy Jane Higgins, and together they shared the last twenty-three years. His parents preceded him in death. Charles is survived by his wife, Nancy, of the home; a son, Charles F. Carter, Jr., of Lebanon, Missouri; three daughters, Sherry Carter, Rebecca Holmes, and her husband, Levi, and Tonya Blackburn, all of Lebanon, Missouri; five grandchildren; four brothers, John Carney, Jimmy, Perry, and Robert Carter, all of Lebanon, Missouri; two sisters, Mary Blankenship, of Grovespring, Missouri, and Marie Miller, of Evansville, Indiana; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was raised in Laclede County, Missouri, and lived most of his life in the Lebanon area. After he and Nancy were married, they made their home near Lebanon and lovingly raised their family. Early in his life, Charles worked at a sawmill for a few years, and then worked at Christian Healthcare North, in Lebanon for a number of years. In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where one of his favorite activities was fishing. He loved his family dearly and especially enjoyed his grandchildren. Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2006, in the Holman-Howe Chapel. Burial will be in the Coping Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 6 - 7:30 p.m. A memorial has been established and contributions may be made through the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
