Charles S. Gillis (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Charles Stephen Gillis, son of Charles H. and Madeline Mongold Gillis, was born August 4, 1965, in St. Joseph, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, October 31, 2015, in Cox Medical Center South, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of fifty years, two months, and twenty-seven days.
On February 2, 2000, he was united in marriage to Karen Denise Moore.
His parents preceded him in death.
Charles is survived by his wife, Karen, of the home; two daughters; two sons; nine grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
He was raised on the family farm in the Mound City, Missouri area, while his mother was a school teacher. He then made his home in the Lake of the Ozarks area. He enjoyed playing golf and had worked with the P.G.A. for several years. He later moved to the Lebanon area and he and Karen made their home.
Charles' faith in God was very important to him and he always enjoyed studying his Bible with Shepherd's Chapel every morning.
In his spare time he liked playing golf, hunting, and doing carpentry work.
Charles will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
