Charles J. James ( Mansfield)'s Obituary
Charles Joseph James, son of Charles and Norma Page James, was born May 3, 1956 in Aurora, Illinois and departed this life on December 27, 2014 at his home near Brushyknob, Missouri at the age of fifty-eight years, seven months, and three days.
On July 29, 1977 he was united in marriage to Glenda Rouch and to this union three children were born.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Mackey Aaron James and Jimmy F. James; nephew, Jeremy A. Kelly; great-nephew, Trevor Lee White; paternal grandparents, Burton and Mable James; maternal grandparents, Luther and Pauline Page.
“Hillbilly” is survived by three children, Kenny James and wife Lori of Mansfield, Missouri, Jolene Sawyers and husband Ronny of Norwood, Missouri, and Derek James of Norwood, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren, Ty James and wife Caly, Whitney, Alexis, Sid, and Jewell James, Ronny (Tre`) III, Mason, and Stone Sawyers, Seth, Connor, Audrey, and Alyvia James; great-grandson, Rylan James; his parents, Charles and Norma James of Norwood, Missouri; four siblings, Debra James and Colleena Whitely both of Ava, Missouri, Carl Jesse James of Tipton, Iowa, and Jerry L. James of Fruitland, Iowa, as well as many nieces, nephews and host of other relatives and friends.
Born in Illinois, he and his family moved to Missouri until he was 9 years old, then to Muscatine, Iowa where he lived until moving to Brushyknob, Missouri in 1988 to be near his children.
A few years ago, “Hillbilly” knew that he needed something more in life than he had ever had. He was saved and baptized by Pastor Danny Douglas.
His children and grandchildren were the joy of his life and he loved spending time with them.
In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and mushroom hunting.
He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and will cherish the good times we had together.
