Charles Thomas King (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Charles Thomas King, son of Lark and Demelda Gennings, was born June 4, 1944, in Clinton County, Missouri. He departed this life Thursday, May 16, 2013, in his home, near Eldridge, Missouri, at the age of sixty-eight years, nine months, and twelve days.
On December 28, 2004, he was united in marriage to Linda Lee Landherr.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Raymond King, and two infants, Randy and William; and a sister, Diane Garroutte.
Charles is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home; two daughters, Lorri Butler, and her husband, Bill, of Urbana, Missouri, and Sherri Wood, and her husband, J.R., of Phillipsburg, Missouri; a son, Joe Murphy, and his wife, Andrea, of Harrisonville, Missouri; five grandchildren, Brianna, Skyler, Courtney, Rebecca, and Ryan; a great-grandson, Dexter Jordan; two sisters, Brenda Blankenship, and her husband, Don, of Eldridge, Missouri, and Debbie Butrick, and her husband, Bob, of Willard, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Sue King, of Eldridge, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in the Eldridge and Lebanon areas, and attended Zion School. He worked in the boat manufacturing business for many years, and had been employed by Appleby Boats, G-3 Boats, and O.M.C. He had been a brake operator for several years.
In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening, and liked making knives. He also liked to cook and cared lovingly for his wife. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandson.
Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
