Charles "Lynn" Day (Hartville)'s Obituary
Charles Lynn Day, son of Charley Junior and Georgia Helen Quessenberry Day, was born July 2, 1950 in Niangua, Missouri. He departed this life Wednesday, February 24, 2016, in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-five years, seven months, and twenty-two days.
Early in life, Lynn was married to the mother of his children, Sheila Divine.
On January 21, 2000, Lynn was united in marriage to Vonna Fay Mayfield, and together they have shared the last sixteen years.
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents; and his mother-in-law, Mayadele Mayfield.
He is survived by his wife, Vonna, of the home; sons, Brian and wife Kenna, and Derek Day and significant other, Michelle, all of Hartville, Missouri; his grandchildren, Meagan, Dalton, Trevr, Paige, Laura, and Vivien; a step-son, Jamie Pearman and wife Janelle, of Nixa, Missouri; his brothers, Glen Day and wife Kim, of Hartville, Missouri, Steve Day, of Springfield, Missouri, and Jackie Day and wife Kathy, of Eldridge, Missouri; his father-in-law, Don Mayfield, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; the mother of his children, Sheila Divine, of Hartville, Missouri; two nieces, Kalie and Linzie and a nephew, Jared, as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
Lynn was born in Niangua and was a graduate of Hartville High School in the Class of 1968. Immediately following his graduation, Lynn started his career with the Missouri Department of Transportation, and retired as a supervisor after thirty-nine years of faithful service. He later worked part-time for Wright County Road and Bridge.
Early in life, Lynn had accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized at Green Valley Church.
He was a member of the Hartville Lions Club for many years. He was always willing to help anyone with anything at anytime.
Lynn was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He made many memorable hunting and fishing trips with family and friends throughout the years. He loved to watch the grandchildren play basketball and soccer and taking Dalton white bass fishing in Oklahoma.
Lynn was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends.
