Charles Patton's Obituary
Charles Patton, son of Charles and Barbara (Knox) Patton, was born April 27, 1933 in Benton County, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, June 8, 2007, at Ozark Care Center in Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of seventy-four years, one month and twelve days. On July 3, 1952, he was united in marriage to Charletta June Buell, and to this union one daughter and two sons were born. In 1991, Charletta passed away. On May 11, 1994, in Camdenton, Missouri, Charles was united in marriage to Ruby Louise Briggs and together they shared the last thirteen years. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and nine brothers and sisters. Charles is survived by his wife, Ruby, of Lebanon, Missouri; a daughter, Kathy Twenter, and her husband, Terry, of Sedalia, Missouri; two sons, Rick Patton, and his wife, Teresa, of Houstonia, Missouri, and Brian Patton, and his wife, Dana, of Holden, Missouri; a step-daughter, Dr. Tamila Kindwall, and her husband, Kevin Keller, of Cleveland, Ohio; a step-son, Anthony Kindwall, and his wife, Christi, of Camdenton, Missouri; five grandchildren; a brother, Warren Patton, and his wife, Ruth, of Ontario, Canada; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in rural Benton County, Missouri. After meeting and marrying his first wife, Charletta, they soon made their home in Sedalia, Missouri. Charles operated Patton’s Auto Service for several years, and then after Charletta’s passing, he owned and operated Chardon’s Restaurant. In 1994, he and Ruby were married and they made their retirement home in the Linn Creek community. While living in the Camdenton area, Charles attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Lebanon, Missouri, and in 2004, he was baptized into membership. In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were gardening and fishing. He also liked relaxing and watching television. Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he made for his family and many friends. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Sedalia, Missouri. Memorials to the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Lebanon, Missouri may be made through the funera home. Services are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri. Peterson, Reverend Carl W., 88 Rev. Carl Wendell Peterson, son of Charles A. and Effie Helen Lundeen Peterson, was born February 8, 1919, in Oxford Township, Minnesota. He departed this life Saturday, June 16, 2007, in St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-eight years, four months, and eight days. On June 22, 1946, he was united in marriage to Louise Medley and to this union one daughter was born. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Milton Peterson; and a sister, Alphild Leerssen. Carl is survived by his loving wife of sixty-one years, Louise, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Levonne Ray and Lee Morgan, of Columbia, Missouri; three grandchildren, Kirk, Landon, and Moriah; five great-grandchildren, Kenny, Gabriel, Mary, Eva and Lily; a nephew, Paul Leerssen, and his wife, Jeanette, of Bend, Oregon; a brother-in-law, Raymond Medley, and his wife, Charlotte, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. He was born and raised in Minnesota, where he graduated from high school. He then served his country faithfully in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in East Europe. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he attended Anderson College, in Anderson, Indiana, where he became an ordained minister in the Church of God. For the next several years, he pastored at First Church of God in Kennett, Missouri, Taylor Avenue Church of God in Lebanon, Missouri, and First Church of God in Jefferson City, Missouri. From 1968 until 1981, he was the Executive Secretary of the Missouri Ministers of the Church of God. He and Louise eventually retired and came to live in Lebanon, Missouri. Carl made his profession of faith in Christ early in his life and was a faithful member of the Church of God. He and Louise enjoyed being members of the Highland Park Church of God for the past eighteen years. He possessed musical talent and a love for music, and he and Louise enjoyed singing duets together. Weaving was one of his hobbies and he liked working with and making things with his loom. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, and playing golf in his spare time. His faith and his family were always foremost in his life and he greatly enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carl was a loving family man, a dedicated and caring pastor, a respected Christian leader, and a true friend to many. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the wonderful memories he made for his family and many friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2007, in the Highland Park Church of God, Lebanon. Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Piercy, Bill, 63 Bill Eugene Piercy, son of William Chester and Freda Mae Starnes Piercy, was born September 30, 1943, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, June 16, 2007, in Christian Health Care North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-three years, eight months, and sixteen days. On September 13, 1967, he was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Wallen, and together they shared thirty-five years before her passing on March 29, 2002. He was also preceded in death by his father; a son, William Scott; and a brother Larry Piercy. Bill is survived by four daughters, Jean Ann Scott, of Lebanon, Missouri, Rosalie Judy, of Pikeville, North Carolina, Patricia May Thomas, of St. Albans, West Virginia, and Paulette Mae Short, of Tampa, Florida; a daughter-in-law, Lorri Scott, of Lebanon, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his mother, Freda Staats, and her husband, Bob, of Lebanon, Missouri; four brothers, Jack Piercy, of Goodyear, Arizona, Mike Piercy, of Hartford City, Indiana, Richard Piercy and Chester Piercy, both of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in the Lebanon community. He then lived in Arizona for several years where he worked on cotton gins. He eventually returned to Lebanon, and was employed by Appleby Boat Company. For the last several years he had worked as a carpenter. Bill had made his profession of faith in Christ and attended the Sleeper Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed visiting with his friends at the donut shop and liked building things in his spare time. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren. Bill was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
