Charles Schwarz Sr (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Charles Keith Schwarz, Sr., son of Fred G. and Ruth Lee Keith Schwarz, was born January 30, 1938, in Galveston, Texas. He departed this life Tuesday, May 12, 2015, in Windsor Estates, in Camdenton, Missouri, at the age of seventy-seven years, three months, and twelve days.
On October 6, 1968, in Texas, he was united in marriage to Josephine Lee “Josie” Arcudia, and to this union two daughters and one son were born.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a sister, Carol Sowell.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Josie, of Camdenton, Missouri; two daughters, Ruth Kirk, and her husband, Jared, and Crystal Weaver, and her husband, Bobby, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Charles Schwarz, Jr., of Camdenton, Missouri; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his mother, Ruth Lee Schwarz, of Corsicana, Texas; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in Gatesville, Texas and graduated from high school there. He entered the military as a young man, and served in the United States Army for several years. He then attended college for short time before re-entering the Army to serve in the Vietnam War. He continued to serve in the Army for a total of thirty-four years before retiring with the rank of First Sergeant. He received numerous medals and awards for his years of service, including the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, and the Army Achievement Medal with 1st Oak Leaf Cluster. He had lived in Texas, Colorado, Germany, and Kansas before he and Josie retired to Lebanon, Missouri.
After moving to Lebanon, Charles worked for Tracker Marine, Lowe Boats, and the City of Lebanon for several years.
Charles had made his profession of belief in Christ and followed the Freewill Baptist faith. He had attended Second Freewill Baptist Church in Lebanon.
In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting and doing artwork projects. He had also made shirts for each of his grandchildren. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
