Charles Lee Starnes (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Charles Lee Starnes, son of Tom and Margaret Steward Starnes was born June 7, 1941 in Brownfield, Missouri. He departed this life Thursday, September 28, 2023 at the age of 82 years, 8 months, and 21 days.
Charles grew up in the home of his uncle; Sie Enyart. They lived near family, and spent every Sunday with the extended family at his grandmother’s. His uncle was a retired veteran and was able to use the extra help around the house. He taught Charlie may skills that he would take on into adulthood.
After finishing school, Charlie began his career as a handyman. He picked up odd-jobs wherever he could, whether as a mechanic, a farmhand, or an amateur horologist fixing watches. He lived several years in Nebraska working on a farm before coming back to Missouri to retire.
Charlie was an avid fishermen. He loved to be outside fishing as much as possible. He also greatly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the children.
Charles faith was very important to him and intensely deep. He was a long-time member of Friendship Baptist Church in Pulaski County.
Charles is preceded in death by his wives; Edna Starnes and Betty Hughes Starnes. He is survived by his sisters; Mary Decker of Lebanon, MO, Barbara Williams and husband John of Lebanon, MO, Carol Decker of Lebanon, MO, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
Charles will be dearly missed by those close to him.
