Charles Thompson (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Charles Gregory “Chuck” Thompson, 71, of Bolivar, MO passed away Monday, September 11, 2017 at his home surrounded by his wife and family. Chuck was born September 10, 1946 in Elmira, NY to Charles M. Thompson and Helen J. McCarthy. The eldest of 11 children Chuck became an arch of support for his mother being the one thing that got her through a difficult situation. Charles served in Vietnam during his 24-year Air Force career. He married Claudie “Pauline” Goforth on December 24, 1980. He drove a truck for over 15 years with Perfect Timing Truck Company being one of his favorites. Chuck also enjoyed driving disabled veterans for the DAV. A lifelong Catholic he served in the Knights or Columba’s serving as a Grand Knight. Chuck was known as an extremely giving, loving and caring man who was known for his two thumbs up. A true people person with the gift of walking in to a room of strangers and walking out with many new friends. Chucks friends and family would say he taught you what it meant to be a “True Friend”.
Visitation for Charles, will be Friday, September 15, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, MO.
Funeral Services for Charles, will be Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Bolivar, Missouri. Burial to follow at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in Bolivar, Missouri.
