Charles "C.A." Wilson (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Charles Abe “C. A.” Wilson, son of the late James M. and Martha M. (Pruett) Wilson, was born on May 16, 1938 in Dallas County, MO and departed this life on February 18, 2024 at his home in Buffalo, MO. At the time of his passing he was 85 years, nine months, and one day of age.
C. A. attended elementary school at the White Palace School for eight years and graduated from Buffalo High School in 1956. He continued his education in Columbia for two years before enlisting in the United States Army, serving two years active duty and two years in the Army Reserves. After his service, C. A. worked for the F. B. I. for a couple of years. He went to work for the City of Buffalo for a short time before beginning his career with Utility Services Associates, where he retired after 26 years of service. C. A. was united in marriage to Donna Miller on August 4, 1990. He was saved at the age of 20 and faithfully served his Lord and Savior. He and Donna joined Calvary Chapel Freewill Baptist Church in 2001 and both served as greeters as long as his health permitted. C. A. enjoyed riding and breaking horses, hunting and fishing, and was always known as being a good shot. He also loved spending time on the farm brush hogging and tending to his cattle. He and Donna also spent many hours volunteering at Church activities and helping with the Relay for Life. C. A. always had a thankful and grateful attitude about life.
C. A. was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Buell, Jimmy and Dwight Wilson; four sisters, Mary Williams, Arlene Chapman, Patsy Durrington, and Sue Ritch; and one grandson, Skyler Hammett. He is survived by his wife Donna of the home; two sons, Cody & wife Mary Kay Wilson of Rogersville, MO and Casey Wilson of Knoxville, TN; two daughters, Kim & husband Sam Hammett of Knoxville, TN and Melissa & husband Dennis Lethem of Scott City, KS; six grandchildren, Terra Noguera, Derek Cordova, Shane Lethem, Haylie Hammett, Blake Wilson, and Brooke Wilson; and three great-grandchildren, Raquel, Jaxson, and Harper. He also leaves other family members, his church family, and many friends who will all truly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2024 in the Calvary Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with Dr. Douglas Earls and Pastor Mark Elliott officiating. Escorts will be Blake Wilson, Dale Wilson, Dereck Cordova, Timmy Jackson, Shane Lethem, Nathan Wilson, and Chris Williams. Honorary escorts will be Dan Hutchinson, Jim Hayes, Bill Larkin, and Ed McDairment. Interment will be in the Maple Lawn Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St. Jude’s Children's Hospital.
