Charlotte Ann Bays-Myers (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Charlotte Ann Bays-Myers, 81, of Bolivar, MO passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Parkview Health Care Facility in Bolivar.
Charlotte was born in Essex, MO on April 11, 1943 to her parents, Clarence Hampton and Lillian Eileen (Merryman) Hampton. She attended Bolivar High School and Sikeston High School. Charlotte earned her bachelor's degree in education from Lindenwood University. She earned her Masters Degree from Drury University in MO and University of Durham in England. Her final degree was an education specialist from SMS in MO. Charlotte served 40 years in education, 25 as a teacher and 15 as an elementary school principal.
Charlotte’s first husband, Lyndon Bays, passed away from cancer. She married her current husband, Steve, on September 27, 2005
Charlotte attended Bolivar First Assembly for most of her life. She served as a Sunday School teacher and her and Steve sang in the choir in their senior years. She so loved and honored Jesus. She’ll love singing in His choir.
She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Her and Steve enjoyed retirement and several cruises and spent the winter months in Florida or Arizona. She even learned and enjoyed playing golf.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Lillian Eileen Hampton; husband, Lyndon; grandson, Landon and sister, Ruth.
Charlotte is survived by her husband, Steve Myers; children, Michelle Humbert and husband Trent, Blake Bays and wife Bracey; grandchildren, Mystic Richart and husband Nick, Tritney Humbert, Christian Bays, Andrew Bays and Brooke Bays; great-grandchildren, Westin, Amelia and Georgia Richart and Arthur Stanford; step-daughters Elizabeth Botkin and Cheryl Anderson; Brothers, Paul Hampton and wife Marlys, Ron Hampton and wife Dee and Michael Hampton and wife Linda.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 23rd from 5-7 P.M. at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, April 24th at 1 P.M. at Bolivar First Assembly of God Church. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
