Dear Cheney Family & Friends,
I met Midge when I was 16 years old & she referred to me since that time as, "my other daughter"; an honor I'll cherish forever. Over the years, I've shared many visits with Midge & Bill prior to his death in 1994; and just as many after that time. We talked, laughed & cried as any family would. There are all too many stories to tell in the allotted space, yet the memories will always be there. Although I'm not Catholic, I had the opportunity with the USO to visit the Vatican & be at a public Mass with Pope John Paul II. I bought a special Rosary for Midge to be Blessed by the Pope. During my next visit home, I gave Midge her special Rosary & she was overwhelmed. Bob or Robert as your Mom called you, inherits her special Rosary, as she & I discussed many times before her failing health. Over the past few years, Midge's health declined, yet she always told me in detail the story of her being born so small they called her Midge; her meeting/falling in love & marrying Bill; them working together as a couple & most important, raising their family. I was honored to have been invited to Midge's 90th Birthday Party @ Dunnegan Park 2 years ago. Midge was sharp as a tack that day & had a wonderful time. My last visit with Midge was just before I moved to Texas 5 months ago & she knew who I was immediately - a Blessing for sure! Midge is at peace now & suffering no more. Midge will be missed by all who knew her & those lives she so tenderly touched! I love you Midge & Celebrating your life! Sending my Prayers, Thoughts & Love to everyone!! Helen Strack
