Charlotte McWilliams' Obituary
Charlotte Annemarie McWilliams, daughter of Henrich and Anna Vanderweerd Schenk, was born October 30, 1927 in Frankfurt, Germany. She departed this life Wednesday, February 24, 2010 in her home near Seymour, Missouri at the age of eighty-two years, three months, and twenty-five days. On October 4, 1948 she was united in marriage to Robert Lee McWilliams and to this union six children were born. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert on January 5, 2006; two sons, Gregory and James McWilliams; and a great-grandson, Camden Burch. She is survived by a daughter, Colleen Wagner and her husband, Charles, of Seymour, Missouri; three sons, Michael McWilliams and his wife, Lorin, of Strafford, Missouri, Patrick McWilliams of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Kelly McWilliams and his wife, Deanna, of Seymour, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren, Amanda, Jennifer, Melissa, Megan, Gregory, Jeffrey, Danny, Tim, Kathleen, Megan, Crystal, Samantha, Willie, Wesley, David, and Robert; eight great-grandchildren, Levi, Sophia, Eden, Rheanna, Aiden, Caden, Ashlyn and Ari; as well as host of other relatives and many dear friends. Charlotte was born in Germany where she met and married Robert while serving in the United States Army. They lived in various locations while Robert was in the service and following his retirement in 1962, Charlotte and Robert lived in California and Colorado Springs, Colorado, before making their home in Seymour, Missouri in 1996. Charlotte had accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a faithful member of the Seymour Church of the Nazarene where she was actively involved in various church activities and functions. She loved listening to the “Praise Team” and especially enjoyed hearing Reverend Mark’s messages. In her spare time Charlotte enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She also enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and loved all types of cuisine. Charlotte was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she has created. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed and will forever live in our hearts. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday March 1, 2010 at the Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday afternoon 4-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Seymour, Missouri. Return to top
