Chauncey D. Jannings (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Chauncey Dean Jannings, 67, of Halfway, MO passed away April 10, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Mt. Pleasant, IA on March 6, 1959, and grew up in SE Minnesota. Chauncey retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons as a facilities manager at the end of 2010. After a year of traveling, he then went back to work for the next 9 years welding on various pipelines. He loved meeting new people and never met a stranger. His passion in life was being outdoors fishing and hunting. He loved his family and friends, but most importantly he loved the Lord.Chauncey is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Debra - his high school sweetheart. Other survivors include his daughters - Stephenie Buice (Senoia, GA), Jessica and Brad (the son he never had) Luger (Oxford, WI), and Sarah Jannings (Austin, MN), and his grandchildren - Emma, Seth, Logan, Ellie, Madelyn, and Lilliana. Also surviving was his new canine companion, Lola. Chauncey was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Frances Dean Jannings and a brother David.A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
