Cheryl Lynne Heidenreich (Dykes), 60, passed away suddenly on May 29, 2023, at her home while bravely battling lung cancer. She was born on January 2, 1963, in Kansas City, Kansas. Cheryl was preceded in death by both parents James Robert Dykes and Barbara Ann Dykes (Yokum). Cheryl graduated from Liberty High School in Liberty, Missouri in 1981. She lived most of her life in the Kansas City North area. Eventually settling down at the Lake of the Ozarks with spouse Terry Green who adored Cheryl.
Cheryl was survived by her former husband, Daniel Furne, and their children, Blake (Brandi) Furne of Liberty, Missouri, Luke Furne of Kansas City, Missouri, and Brandi (Armando) Aguilar of Kearney, Missouri; her grandchildren; Daniella and Armando Aguilar, Blakeli Furne, Miranda and Tristan Pendleton, siblings; Julia Mckinney, and Robert (Joyce) Dykes, as well as her non-kin family Gayle Copeland, Deandra Tate, spouse Terry Green, along with many other dear family and friends.
Cheryl had many jobs over the years, most recently before the cancer kept her home, she was a personal shopper at the Woods grocery store in Sunrise Beach, Missouri. Cheryl loved the job and especially her regular customers. In Cheryl’s free time you could find her reading. It was her absolute favorite hobby; she was an avid reader who usually finished a book in one or two days. Cheryl was no stranger to the public library and would often say “why buy books when there are thousands you can borrow from the library”.
The family would like to personally thank Terry Green for loving and caring for Cheryl. Thank you to her former employer Woods grocery for being so understanding and cooperative during Cheryl’s treatments and thank you to her community for helping to keep Cheryl smiling throughout her difficult journey.
Cheryl will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and her community. May she rest in peace.
