Cheryl J. Orvis (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Cheryl Jean Orvis, daughter of Ralph Harold and Grace Adeline Hopkins Judy, was born July 27, 1949, in Danville, Illinois. She departed this life Friday, October 16, 2020, in the Missouri University Hospital, in Columbia, Missouri, at the age of seventy-one years, two months, and nineteen days.
On December 7, 1973, she was united in marriage to John Robert Orvis, and was the proud mother of two daughters.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Cheryl is survived by her husband of forty-six years, John, of the home; two daughters, Lorri Anne Scott-Scofield, and her husband, Richard, of Buffalo, Missouri, and Olivia McFadden, and her husband, Cashe, of Lebanon, Missouri; five grandchildren, Andrea Watterson, Nathan Wade, Brantly Scott, Breanna Spindin, and Tyler McFadden; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in Phillipsburg, Missouri, and graduated from Phillipsburg High School. She then became a certified nursing assistant and worked at a hospital, where she met John. After they were married, they made their home in Laclede County and lovingly raised their daughters. Cheryl had done factory work and had been employed by Walmart for a time. She also was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family.
Cheryl was an active member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses of Buffalo, Missouri.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and especially loved her grandchildren.
Cheryl was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
