Chester Clayton Murrell (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Chester “Clayton” Murrell, son of the late Novie and Irene (Thompson) Murrell, was born on December 29, 1945 in Poplar Bluff, MO and departed this life on April 2, 2025 at his home near Buffalo, MO. At the time of his passing, he was 79 years, three months, and three days of age.
Clayton was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing and being in the woods. He would sit every morning in the breakfast nook and watch the deer while he drank his coffee. He worked in quality control for Caterpillar Tractor Company at their headquarters in Illinois, using computers to put together tractors. Clayton enjoyed following the Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals and never missed watching a game. He was united in marriage to Kathryn Davis on June 18, 1976. He loved his family and had many loyal friends and great neighbors who tended to his yard when he was down.
Clayton was preceded in death by his parents; one son; one son-in-law; two brothers; and three sisters. He is survived by his wife Kathryn; one sister; six children; 16 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Now he is gone to Heaven with God and we will meet again.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025 in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home.
