Christina Akin's Obituary
Christina Marie Akin, age 22, of Bolivar, Missouri passed away on Saturday morning, February 26, 2011 at Citizen?s Memorial Hospital after a courageous fight with cancer.
Born December 29, 1988 in Grants Pass, Oregon to Randy William Akin and Anne Frances Werner, Christina was raised in Bolivar the majority of her life. She graduated from Bolivar High School in the Class of 2007. Christina enjoyed riding dirt bikes, fishing, hunting, crafts, painting, styling hair, and paintball.
Christina worked for Parkview Healthcare Facility in Bolivar, Missouri and was very well liked by her co-workers and residents.
Chriistina is preceded in death by her nephew, Jacob Sorum, both of her grandfathers, one grandmother, her aunt, and four uncles.
Christina is survived by her parents: Randy & Anne Akin of Bolivar, Missouri, two sisters: Corrie Akin of Bolivar, Missouri and Jamie Akin-Bell, married to Linn Bell, of Buffalo, Missouri, five nephews: Jayson Sorum, Traven Sorum, Gabriel Akin, Trevor Wright, Austin Bell, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services are being held at 2:00pm, Friday, March 4, 2011 at Countryside Assembly of God Church in Bolivar, with Reverend Gray Nordan officiating under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home. Musical selections will include ?If I Die Young,? by The Band Perry, "I Won?t Let Go,? by Rascal Flatts and ?Angels On The Moon,? by Thriving Ivory. Burial will follow at Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Bolivar, Missouri. A visitation is being held from 6:00-8:00 Thursday evening at Countryside Assembly of God Church. Pallbearers are Adam Wilson, Adam Roberts, Cameron Hood, Tyler Floyd, Rod Akin, Jeff Dean.
