Christopher Douglas Porter (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Christopher Douglas Porter was born March 27, 1980 in Springfield, Missouri and departed this life on July 11, 2016 in Rocky Ridge Manor near Mansfield, Missouri at the age of thirty-six years, three months and fourteen days.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, J.D. Porter and Alvin “Duke” Dunbar.
Chris is survived by his mother, Millie Clark and husband, Greg, of Mansfield; two brothers, Matthew Dunbar and wife, Tanya, their children, Kenna and Alora; Alex Dunbar and wife, Kelsay, their children, Bralyn, Natalie, Lane and Violet; beloved Granny, Iva Porter and Grandma Faye Dunbar; uncle, Tom Porter and wife, Nancy, all of Mansfield; aunt, Jan Willis and husband, Troy, of Branson; other relatives and many other people who loved him. Chris was born in Springfield and lived all of his life in Mansfield. He graduated from the Greene Valley State School in 2001 and in June of that year became a resident of Rocky Ridge Manor. He was a happy-go-lucky child and loved his brothers and riding in Pa Porter’s milk truck on the milk route. In his early years, he loved fast trucks and tractor pulls. Chris was born with lifelong disabilities, never complaining, and bringing much happiness to his family. We look back at his life and are sad that he couldn’t live the life most do, but we are so thankful to have had him here with us, for many, many, years longer than expected. Rest in peace, Chris, we love you and we will never forget you.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Family may be made and left at the funeral home.
