Clara "Marie" Henson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Clara Marie Henson, daughter of Roy and Violet Adams Jones, was born October 27, 1935, near Eldon, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, November 16, 2021, in Lebanon North Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-six years, and twenty days.
On December 30, 1950, she was united in marriage to James E. Henson, and to this union three sons and a daughter were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of almost fifty-six years, Rev. James Henson; a great-granddaughter, Mikayla Kinchloe; a brother, Kenneth Jones; and five sisters, Betty Paul, Helen Johnson, Ruby Perry, Ida May Sheppard, and Mildred Porter.
Marie is survived by three sons, James W. “Jim” Henson, and his wife, Margaret, Jerry L. Henson, and his wife, Connie, and Timothy E. “Tim” Henson, and his wife, Carrie, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a daughter, Deborah J. “Deb” Kincheloe, and her husband, Richard, of Lebanon, Missouri; eight grandsons; nineteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Maxine Caudle, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Linda Patten, of Conway, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Laclede County, Missouri, and received her education there. After she and James were married, they made their home near Lebanon and lovingly raised their family. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Marie was also a dedicated minister’s wife and helped support him in his Freewill Baptist ministry.
Marie had made her profession of belief in Christ early in her life and followed the Freewill Baptist faith throughout the years. She had attended various churches since her husband’s passing.
In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, cooking, and making a comfortable home for her family. She loved having family gatherings and enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren.
Marie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her eighty-six years.
Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 19 at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon at 2 p.m. Rev. Lonnie Nelson will officiate the service. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 19 from 1 - 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in New Home Cemetery near Falcon, Missouri.
