Clarence "Zed" Cantrell (Seymour)'s Obituary
Clarence LeRoy “Zed” Cantrell, age 73, passed away Friday, January 20, 2017 in his home. Zed was born Sunday, May 16, 1943 in Duncan, Webster County, Missouri, one of 10 children born to Felix Sherdon Cantrell and Hazel Marietta (Fullington) Cantrell. He was raised in the Duncan and Nation school communities and was of the Pentecostal faith. On July 28, 1964 in Seymour, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Vesta Lee Rhodes and to this union five children were born. He never met a stranger, always had a smile and hug for friends and enjoyed meeting friends at McDonald’s for coffee as often as he could. Singing and playing his guitar and working his scrap metal was how he loved to spend his time.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Tony Cantrell and Carl Cantrell as well as a sister Frances Payton.
Zed is survived by his wife of 52 years Vesta of the home; four sons, Lyndon LeRoy Cantrell of Rogersville, Missouri, Ernest Sherdon Cantrell and wife Susan of Springfield, Missouri, Marty Lee Cantrell of Fordland, Missouri, Jasper Clayton Cantrell and wife Michelle of Seymour, Missouri; one daughter Melinda Gail Cantrell of Republic, Missouri; five brothers, Tom Cantrell and wife Mary of Strafford, Missouri, Marshall Cantrell and wife Betty of Marshfield, Missouri, Emmett Cantrell and wife Gwen of Rogersville, Missouri, Keith Cantrell and wife Cynthia of Hartville, Missouri, Larry Cantrell and wife Jearlene of Marshfield, Missouri; one sister Kathy Day and husband Jeff of Seymour, Missouri; he was also raised along with, Ronnie Cantrell of Marshfield, Missouri and Agnes McVay and husband Bob of Marshfield, Missouri as well as 9 grandchildren Blake, Vesta, Hannah, Ethan, Ashley, Allissa, Wyatt, Emily and Sidney and 7 great grandchildren Kaden Jerimiah, Zander, Vinzent,Zeda, Valtina and Johnathon..
