Clarence "Clem" D Korn (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Clarence Dale “Clem” Korn, son of Karl Oswald and Lillian Marie Meyer Korn, was born December 19, 1933, in New Albany, Iowa. He departed this life Sunday, March 13, 2016, in Mercy Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-two years, two months, and twenty-five days.
On October 26, 1961, in Hastings, Minnesota, he was united in marriage to Sally Lou Wood, and to this union three sons were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Elmer Korn, and Ronnie Korn.
“Clem”, as his family and friends called him, is survived by three sons, Karl Korn, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Dale Korn, and his wife, Linda, of Lebanon, Missouri, and William Korn, of Chattanooga, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Liam, Elise and Julianne Korn; a sister, Wanda Klem, and her husband, Dick, of Hastings, Minnesota; his former wife and good friend, Sally Korn, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in Hastings, Minnesota and attended high school there. He joined the military as a young man and served his country faithfully in the United States Army from August 25, 1954 until being honorably discharged on September 19, 1956. He then attended the University of Minnesota where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. He worked for Reynolds Aluminum Company for many years, and retired as plant manager of the Chicago McCook Reynolds Sheet Metal plant. He retired to Hancock, Wisconsin where he lived until moving to Lebanon in 2002.
Clarence had strong convictions. He was a longtime member of the Lion’s Club International. He enjoyed playing golf and was very fond of animals, particularly his cat “Winston”. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren.
Clem was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lebanon Lions Club and left at the funeral home.
