Clark Woodmansee's Obituary
Mr. Clark Waldo Woodmansee, age 92 of Bolivar, MO went home to the Lord on Monday morning, December 14, 2009 at the Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility in Bolivar. He was born in a sod house in Mullinsville, KS the son of Ray Woodmansee and Hazel (Stephens) Woodmansee on April 9, 1917. He was married on December 1, 1939 to his beloved wife of 60 years, Dorsey Virginia Boyd and to this union six children were born. A retired carpenter, he liked to fish, read and be with his family. Clark served in the second world war in the U. S. Marine Corp, receiving a purple heart and gold star for injuries sustained on Okinawa. Clark was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Hazel Woodmansee, his wife Virginia, two sons, Robert and Billy and one daughter, Anna Jean Maggard. Surviving is his daughter, Dorsey Joe McNerney of Springfield, MO; his two sons, James Woodmansee and wife Barbara of Dunnegan, MO; and Roger Woodmansee and wife Darlene of Pleasant Hope, MO; four sisters, Betty Ayers of Branson West, MO; Bonnie Sigman of Mt. Grove, MO; Jo Ella Skelley of Springfield, MO; and Wilma Smith of Ozark, MO. Two brothers, Johnny Woodmansee of Springfield, MO and George Woodmansee of Bolivar, MO. His 11 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. Also a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 1:00 PM in the Butler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Doyle Mayfield officiating. Musical selections will be “Go Rest High On That Mountain” by Vince Gill, “Peace In The Valley” by Red Foley and “Amazing Grace” by Willie Nelson. Burial will be in the New Bethel Cemetery south of Halfway, MO under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar. Casketbearers will be Clark’s grandsons, Daniel Woodmansee, Justin Woodmansee, Duane Maggard, Jeff Maggard, Dustin McNerney, Mark Adams and Jason Woodmansee.
