Claudie Webster (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Claudie Melvin Webster, son of Clarence Webster and Lola Wilson Webster, was born November 15, 1945 in Camden County, Missouri. He departed this life, January 24, 2021 in his home in Arcadia, Missouri at the age of Seventy-five years, two months and nine days.
On June 6, 1965 he was united in marriage to Fern Elizabeth Newell at the Webster Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Camden County and to this union seven children were born. Together they shared fifty-five years of marriage.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Betty Dugan; one brother, Lester Webster; and his grandson, Darion Beckley.
Survivors include his wife, Fern Webster of Arcadia, Missouri; his daughters, Sarah Sue Elkins and husband Ronald of Arcadia, Missouri, Eva Mae Gammons and husband Gary of Richland, Missouri, Mary Elizabeth Gourley and husband Robert of Roach, Missouri, Claudina Reeves and husband Casey of Lebanon, Missouri, and Stephanie Shetler of Laquey, Missouri; his sons, David Melvin Webster of Buffalo, Missouri and Pad Rick Webster of Camdenton, Missouri; his sisters, Thelma Moore and husband Delbert, Virginia Webster, Bonnie Myers and husband Kenny, and Connie Gregory and husband James, Carol Vanderwiede and husband Richard; a brother, Clarence Webster Jr. and wife Jeanie, twenty-two grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Claudie was raised and spent most all of his life in Camden County. He worked in concrete and was involved in the growth of houses and businesses throughout the lake area.
At the age of thirteen Claudie was saved in the presence of his aunt and uncle, at a little Pentecostal church in Arkansas. In 1971, Claudie was ordained into the Lords Ministry and was a lifetime member of the Webster Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
In his spare time, he enjoyed coon, deer, and coyote hunting as well as numerous other outdoor activities. Most of all his greatest enjoyment was being a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. If you needed a papa, Claudie would take you and love you as his own.
He was a loving and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Horeb Cemetery, Decaturville, Missouri. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Friday, January 29, 2021 at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Webster Grove Missionary Baptist Church and left at the funeral home.
