Clell D. Coleman (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Clell Dean Coleman, son of Arthur and Mollie Williamson Coleman, was born February 25, 1923, near Decaturville, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, July 27, 2018, in Lebanon North Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-five years, five months, and two days.
On March 24, 1978, he was united in marriage to Carol Sue Prock and they shared the last forty years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three step-daughters, Tammy, Mary, and Sherry; a step-son, Kevin; and a great-granddaughter, Shannon Rogers.
Clell is survived by his wife, Carol Sue, of the home; two daughters, Kay Rector, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Vera Howe, of Camdenton, Missouri; a son, Dean Coleman, of Lebanon, Missouri; a step-son, Keith Mahan, of Eldridge, Missouri; six grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in the Decaturville, Missouri area and then entered the military as a young man. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army Air Corps from January 19, 1943, until November 15, 1945, during World War II. He was stationed in Africa and Burma during part of those years. After being honorably discharged from the Air Corps, he returned to the Lebanon area and began working in the boat manufacturing business. He was the plant manager at Appleby Boats and at Landau Boats and then later worked in the maintenance department at Lowe Boats for several years before retiring. He and Sue then enjoyed living on the Lake for several years.
In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, doing wood working projects, and gardening, especially growing beautiful flowers. He greatly loved Christmas and enjoyed doing elaborate light displays each year. He liked having family time and also enjoyed his little dog, “Lacey”.
Clell was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his ninety-five years.
