Cleo Allen (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Della Cleo Allen, daughter of Joseph Elbert and Deby Hicks Pearcy, was born November 3, 1926, in Laclede County, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, October 9, 2011, in Christian Health Care South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-four years, eleven months, and six days.
On November 27, 1943, she was united in marriage to James Leroy Allen, and to this union two daughters were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leroy, on December 19, 1997; and a daughter, Bonnie Myers.
Cleo is survived by a daughter, Connie Courtney, of Lebanon, Missouri; six grandchildren, Matthew Bobbitt, and his wife, Sarah, Evan Courtney, Allyson Benton, Michael Myers, and his wife, Karyn, Terri Williams, and her husband, Ronney, and Brian Myers, and his wife, Kristie; thirteen great-grandchildren, Kaley, Hayden, Emma, Amber, Bethany, Ethan, Nathan, Kaleb, Kameron, Khloe, Brooke, John, and Jaxson; three nieces, Dorothy Brawley, and her husband, Clifford, Linda Whittaker, and her husband, Jerry, and Donna Lamkins; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Laclede County, Missouri, and graduated from Stoutland High School. After she and Leroy were married, they made their home on their farm, near Lebanon, and lovingly raised their daughters. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Cleo also helped in the operation of their dairy and cattle farm.
Cleo made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life, and was a longtime member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, near Stoutland, Missouri.
She also belonged to the Rippy Extension Club for several years. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, and gardening. She was a wonderful cook, and liked fixing her family’s favorite recipes. She loved her family dearly, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Cleo was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years.
