Cliff Bruck (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Clifford Vaughn Bruck, son of Paul Bruck and Debbie McCain, was born October 12, 1983, in St. Charles, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, August 27, 2010, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri, from injuries received in a motor vehicle accident at the age of twenty-six years, ten months and fifteen days.
On December 1, 2007, in Independence, Missouri, he was united in marriage to his best friend, Ashley Renee Willis. Together they shared three exciting and passionate years of marriage and were looking forward to many more adventures ahead.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Christine Bruck; and his maternal grandfather, Robert McCain.
Survivors include his wife, Ashley, of the home; his father, Paul Bruck and wife Victoria, of St. Louis, Missouri; his mother, Debbie McCain of Linn Creek, Missouri; a brother, Nick Bruck and wife Amy, of Linn Creek, Missouri; maternal grandmother, Helen Stephens and husband Jack, of Bellingham, Washington; maternal great-grandfather, Vaughn Lewis of Linn Creek, Missouri; step-sister, Geneva Moore of O’Fallon, Missouri; his favorite niece, Isabelle Bruck; father- and mother-in-law, Marc and Susan Willis of Blue Springs, Missouri; brother-in-law, Chris Willis of Blue Springs, Missouri; his best friend, Ziven Zimmerman of Minnesota; his two beloved baby puppies, Atlas and Athena; several aunts and uncles, who were very special to him; and a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
Cliff spent his earlier years in the St. Louis area where he played baseball, football and enjoyed racing his r/c cars, boats, and planes. He moved to the Camdenton area in 1995. Cliff was very active in school and played football alongside his brother Nick in 1999 when the Lakers won the Class 4-A State Championship. He was a graduate of Camdenton High School in the Class of 2002 and was voted student of the year by his peers and teachers.
Following his graduation from high school, Cliff moved to Chicago where he attended UTI. After completing his degree, Cliff moved back to Camdenton. He found the girl he wanted to share his life long adventures with, Ashley, in November of 2006 and they were married a year later.
In January of 2008, Cliff and Ashley traveled to Uganda, East Africa as missionaries. They spent eight months working in an orphanage, helping the children learn to read and write.
Cliff also had a passion for sailing, but it wasn’t the sailing that gave him his joy, it was the freedom that came along with it. He hoped that one day sailing would lead him to many impoverished countries and to helping the same type of children he worked with in the orphanage. Cliff had a dreamer’s spirit, a humanitarian’s heart and a gypsy’s soul.
Cliff was a bible believing Christian. He believed with his whole heart in God’s command to lay down one’s life and follow Him. Cliff’s heart’s cry was for God to make him a strong leader ready to follow and answer that call.
In his spare time, Cliff went hunting, fishing and enjoyed tinkering on whatever he could find. He also enjoyed Astronomy and traveling to many different locations with his wife.
He was an adoring husband, son, brother, grandson, and a very proud uncle, as well, a caring friend and neighbor. Although his time here with us was cut short, the memories we have of him will be with us forever. His was a life lived to the fullest.
