Clifford Lee Christner Sr. (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Clifford Lee Christner, Sr., son of Jack and Helen Tuttle Christner, was born May 24, 1954, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, May 19, 2017, in his home, near Eldridge, Missouri, at the age of sixty-two years, eleven months, and twenty-five days.
On August 31, 1983, he was united in marriage to Donna Jean Downing, and they share the last thirty-three years.
He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Leroy Christner; and a sister, Brenda Webster.
Clifford is survived by his wife, Donna, of the home; three daughters, Barbara Cottrell, and her husband, Michael, Christina Herring, all of Eldridge, Missouri, and Ruth Christner, of the State of Florida; a son, Clifford Lee Christner, of Sleeper, Missouri; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his mother, Helen Christner, of Lebanon, Missouri; two brothers, James Christner, of Eldridge, Missouri, and Terry Christner, of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister, Karla Liles, and her husband, Frank, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Laclede County, and graduated from Lebanon High School. After he and Donna were married, they made their home near Eldridge, and lovingly raised their children. Clifford worked for Lowe Boats in Lebanon for thirty years before retiring.
Clifford made his profession of faith in Christ and was baptized seven years ago in the Eldridge Full Gospel Church.
He greatly enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were hunting and fishing. He also liked working on cars. He was a hard worker and was dedicated to his job. He loved his family dearly and liked having his family around him.
Clifford was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
A Memorial has been established and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
