Clifford Garnet Stigall's Obituary
Clifford Garnet Stigall, son of Thurman Clifford and Edna Agnes Garner StigalL, was born October 9, 1937, on his family home place, near Hartville, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, March 31, 2007, in his home in Hartville, Missouri, at the age of sixty-nine years, five months and twenty-two days. In 1955 he was united in marriage to Ruby Bledsoe, and to this union two sons were born. On June 27, 1989 he was united in marriage to Linda May Lawson, and they have happily shared the last seventeen plus years. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford, on September 22, 1995. Garnet is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Linda, of the home; two sons, Mark Stigall and his wife, Kim, of Mayflower, Arkansas, their children, Tessa, Travis and Cody Stigall; Garnet’s two great-grandchildren, Briawna and Parker Stigall; Doug Stigall and his wife, Jodie, of Hartville, Missouri; their children, Jennifer Wieser, and her husband, Dustin, of Butterfield, Missouri, and Kevin Stigall, and was greatly anticipating the arrival of his third great-grandchild; his mother, Edna Stigall, of Hartville, Missouri; a brother, Duane Stigall, of St. Charles, Missouri; three step-children, who Garnet was a beloved father to, Barbara Oslakovic, and her husband, J., of Creston, Iowa, Tammi Cash and her husband, Rusty, of Fulton, Missouri, and Rich Davis, and his wife, Alison, of Laurel, Maryland; five step-grandchildren, Taylor Oslakovic, Samuel, Blake and Scarlett Dobson, and Claudia Davis; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. He was born and raised on the family farm in the Coon Creek area, where he attended the Coon Creek School. He later attended Hartville High School where he graduated in the Class of 1955. After graduation he moved to Kansas City where he lived for several years. In the early 1960’s he returned to Wright County to help his parents operate the farm. Throughout his life he drove trucks for several trucking companies, served as a Wright County Deputy Sheriff, and to him, the most important job he ever held, tending the crosswalk at the Hartville School, being with the kids. His family was very important to him and he loved spending time with them. Attending ballgames and supporting their endeavors was of highest priority to him. He was a friend to everyone he knew of all ages and enjoyed attending Hartville Senior Citizens and their activities. He filled his spare time doing woodworking projects, for himself and others, which gave him great pleasure. Garnet was loved dearly by his family and friends. The void now felt will be filled by the gift of the wonderful memories he created for each of us, which will live in our hearts forever. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2007, in the Steele Memorial Cemetery, Hartville.Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6 - 8:30 p.m. in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Hartville. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Hartville, Missouri. Memorials to Relay for Life may be made through the funeral home.
