Clifford H. Himelhan (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Clifford Harold Himelhan, son of Frank H. and Irma M. Carper Himelhan, was born December 4, 1923, in Stran, Iowa. He departed this life Sunday, December 3, 2017, in his home, near Phillipsburg, Missouri, at the age of ninety-three years, eleven months, and twenty-nine days.
Early in his life, he was united in marriage to Agnes Robertson, and they shared many years before her passing.
On October 10, 1987, he married Alice Faye Lightwine Hackler, and they shared the last thirty years.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Robert Himelhan; and a sister, Shirley Hoock.
Clifford is survived by his loving wife, Alice, of the home; a brother, Frank Himelhan, Jr., of Lyons, Ohio; two step-children, Kelly D. Hackler, of Phillipsburg, Missouri, and Sandra Leigh Huffman, of Springfield, Missouri; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Iowa, and then moved with his family to Phillipsburg, Missouri, in 1932. He graduated from Phillipsburg High School in the Class of 1943, and made his home on the family farm his entire life where he worked as a farmer throughout the years.
Clifford made his profession of faith in Christ early in his life and was a member of First Baptist Church in Lebanon. He had attended Phillipsburg Baptist Church.
He enjoyed square dancing and was very active Levi’s and Laces Square Dance Club for several years. He also liked to travel. He loved his family dearly and always enjoyed entertaining the neighborhood children.
Clifford was a loving husband, step-father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
