Clyde was born and raised in Bolivar County, Mississippi. He grew up in a big family and often had to help with the raising of his younger siblings. When he came of age, he decided to join the Army and stayed with the service for 8 years, serving tours in Germany, Korea, and Vietnam. When he returned from overseas, he was given an honorable discharge and began working a number of jobs but especially enjoyed working as a heavy equipment operator for a Molybdenum mine.
Clyde was an outdoors kind of man. He loved hunting, fishing, and nature’s beautiful wonders. He was quick with a wit and never met a stranger. He also enjoyed helping wherever he could, including driving for meals on wheels with the Hartville Care Center. Clyde was both part of the VFW Post 3135 and the American Legion Post 45 to help honor all those that served their country. Clyde was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and dear friend. We celebrate his wonderful life and we will always cherish the many happy memories he created.
