Cody Niccum ( Lebanon)'s Obituary
Cody Lawrence Niccum, son of Lawrence and Gladys Irene Krause Niccum, was born January 28, 1949, in Springfield, Missouri. He departed this life Thursday, February 20, 2014, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-five years, and twenty-two days.
His parents preceded him in death.
Cody is survived by his significant other, Tina Killbreath, of Phillipsburg, Missouri; a son, Chad Niccum, of Springdale, Arkansas; two daughters, Kerie, and Cindy Gorman, both of Jacksonville, Florida; six grandchildren, Connor, Breanna, Sierra, Aiden, Arianna, and Zoe,; four sisters, Cynthia Speakman, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Lydia McConnell, of Gentry, Arkansas, Marsha Green, of Gentry, Arkansas, and Linda Lenser, of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in Arkansas and graduated from high school in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. He lived most of his life in Arkansas and was employed by Kearney Electric Company for a number of years, retiring with a medical disability. He had also worked as a jailor for a brief time. In the early 1990’s, he moved to the Lebanon, Missouri area.
Cody had recently attended the Eldridge Community Church.
When his children were little, he had coached a city league and little league baseball teams. He loved all sports and was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. He loved to dance, coon hunt, and play cards, at which he liked to win at all costs. He possessed a delightful sense of humor and loved to tease. He had a big heart and always cared about others.
Cody was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and significant other, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
A memorial has been established and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
