Colleen Volner's Obituary
Colleen Kay Volner, daughter of Harvey Duane and Ruth Ann Grubaugh Turner, was born December 26, 1971, in Brainerd, Minnesota. She departed this life, February 13, 2006, in her home, near Hartville, Missouri, at the age of thirty-four years, one month, and seventeen days. On January 7, 1995, she was united in marriage to Daniel Lee Volner. She was preceded in death by her mother; and an infant sister. Colleen is survived by her husband, Daniel, of the home; three children, Jessica Parsons, Jacob Turner, and Danielle Volner, all of the home; her father, Harvey “Bud” Turner, Sr., of Hartville, Missouri; a brother, Harvey “Buddy” Turner, Jr., and his wife, Naoko, a sister, Michelle Whitson, and her husband, Brian, all of Springfield, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She spent her younger years in Minnesota then the family moved to Texas and on to Kansas, before settling in Wright County, Missouri in 1992. Colleen had made her profession of faith in Christ, and was a member of Hartville Assembly of God Church where she enjoyed worshiping and fellowship with the church family. She taught Sunday School and Children’s Church, and was a Missionette leader. In her spare time she enjoyed writing poetry, working on various crafts, spending time on the computer, and loved going shopping. Colleen was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will treasure the memories she has created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2006, in the Assembly of God Church, Hartville. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Hartville, Missouri.
