Connie Lee Courtney (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Connie Lee Courtney, daughter of Leroy and Cleo Pearcy Allen, was born February 14, 1952, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, December 15, 2015, in her home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-three years, ten months, and one day.
Early in her life she was united in marriage to John Bobbitt, who preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Bonnie Myers.
Connie is survived by two sons, Evan Courtney, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Matthew Bobbitt, of Springfield, Missouri; a daughter, Allyson Benton, of West Plains, Missouri; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Lebanon and graduated from Lebanon High School. She then attended College of the Ozarks, at Point Lookout, Missouri where she earned her degree in education. She taught in various places before returning to Lebanon, where she served as Principal of Hillcrest Elementary School for a few years. She then was the computer lab instructor for 4th and 5th graders at Boswell Elementary School for a number of years before retiring. Throughout the years, she was also a loving mother and homemaker to her family.
Connie had attended Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church near Lebanon.
She loved children and particularly enjoyed helping students obtain good computer skills. She was always an avid reader and liked keeping up on current affairs. She possessed a delightful sense of humor and loved to laugh. Her family was very dear to her and she treasured spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Connie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and know that her she will be fondly remembered for her devotion to her family, her dedication to her students, and as a kind and caring friend. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
