Connie Reid (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Connie Kay Reid, daughter of Charles Andrew and Dorothy Abbot Jones, was born May 15, 1945, near Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday, January 31, 2013, in Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-seven years, eight months, and sixteen days.
On December 27, 1963, she was united in marriage to Jack Reid, and to this union two daughters were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Charles Ronald “Ronnie” Jones.
Connie is survived by her husband of forty-nine years, Jack, of the home; two daughters, Tammie Bechtel, and her husband, Greg, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Sandie Weathers, and her husband, Steve, of Smithville, Missouri; five grandchildren, Zachary, Ryne, Lexi, Abbie, and Austin; a brother, Gary Jones, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; her step-father, Phil Martley, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area, and graduated from Lebanon High School. After she and Jack were married, they made their home in Lebanon for all of their married years. Connie was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family and also worked in the dietary department first at Breech Medical Center and then continuing with St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, until retiring after thirty years.
Connie was raised in the Lebanon Nazarene Church and for the last ten years had attended Lebanon Family Church.
She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed following all of her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. She particularly liked going on family vacations. She possessed a sweet spirit and a very kind heart.
Connie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and step-daughter, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years.
