Connie Jean West (Seymour)'s Obituary
Connie Jean West, daughter of Willard and Emma LaFollette Matney, was born September 12, 1955 in Seymour, Missouri and departed this life on March 1, 2021 at Barnes Jewish Christian Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of sixty-five years, five months, and nineteen days.
On September 21, 1973 she was united in marriage to Edward Eugene West and to this union, two children were born. She is preceded in death by her parents, half-brother, Bill Cassy, and sister, Sue Langston. Connie is survived by her husband of almost 48 years, Gene; son, Randy West and wife, DeLacy, of Ozark; daughter, Misty West, of Ozark; three grandchildren, MacKenzie West, Alexus West, and Allyssa West; three sisters, Debra Henry of Mansfield, Edith Moore of Nixa, and Joyce Perrin and husband, Bob, of Mansfield; half-brother, Dale Cantrell and wife, Penny, of Ozark; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Connie was born and raised in Seymour where she graduated from Seymour High School in the Class of 1973. She had worked at the H.D. Lee Plant in Seymour, St. John’s (Mercy) Hospital, and for over 30 years she was a supervisor for Hamilton Properties before retiring. In her spare time, she enjoyed going for motorcycle rides, camping, playing slot machines at casinos, and going to the horse races. She loved being with her family and friends and she always considered family reunions a very special occasion that she wouldn’t have missed for anything. Connie was a loving wife, mom, nan, sister, aunt, and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will always cherish the many special times we had together. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and may be left at the funeral home. Due to Covid-19, face masks will be required.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 6, 2021, at 2 PM, in Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour, Missouri. A visitation will be held Friday, March 5, from 7 - 8 PM, in the funeral home. Burial will be in Seymour Masonic Cemetery.
