Cora Evalyn Spicher (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Cora Evelyn Spicher, known as Evelyn to her friends and family, of Halfway, Missouri, passed away on April 1, 2017 at her home at the age of 79. Evelyn was born in Lead Mine, Missouri, to Ed and Cora Tucker at their home on October, 21, 1937. She was one of 10 children.
Evelyn attended the Lead Mine one room school house and graduated from Tunas in 1956. She was married to Merle Spicher for 38 years and lived in Halfway, MO their whole married life on the family farm. They raised cattle and sometimes stray cats. She had a soft spot in her heart for the strays that came to the farm. She loved her children and grandchildren to the fullest and was proud of them and their accomplishments. Evelyn enjoyed working in the public. She loved her outside flowers and had a strong work ethic. She was employed at the Victorian Restaurant in Buffalo for 20 years and has been currently working at Walmart in Bolivar for over 10 years. She was a fan of thrift stores and her love for reading and history brought her into used book stores on a regular basis. She enjoyed serving God and attending church. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Bolivar, MO where she attended with her husband. She had been baptized in Jesus’ name and was a good praying woman. She was looking forward to seeing Jesus.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Cora Tucker, her brothers John, Lendell, Paul and Gary Tucker, her sister, Margie (Tucker) and grandson, John Morrow. She is survived by her children: Craig Brassfield, of Springfield, MO, Lisa Morrow of Arizona, Wauneta Spicher of Halfway, MO and Carmen Robedeaux of Halfway, MO; grandchildren: Ray Embry, Sammy Embry, Ashley Hoemann, Joe Thompson, Merle Robedeaux, Billy Robedeaux, Andrew Brassfield, and April-Jane Brassfield.
Services for Evelyn will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, MO. Visitation will be held 5:00- 7:00 PM Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Mo. Burial will follow in the Reed Cemetery South of Halfway.
