Curtis Richardson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Curtis Dale Richardson, son of Kay and Faye Stevens Richardson, was born January 27, 1939, near Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, May 25, 2010, in Lake Regional Hospital, in Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of seventy-one years, three months, and twenty-eight days.
On October 5, 1960, he was united in marriage to Rosetta Faye Reid, and to this union two daughters and two sons were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Christopher Lee Richardson, Jr.; his paternal grandparents that raised him, Leo and Lennie Richardson; a brother, Claude Earl Dark; and his mother-in-law, Alma Reid.
Curtis is survived by his loving wife of forty-nine years, Rosetta, of the home; two daughters, Sandra Cook, and her husband, Frank, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Tina Williams, of Eldridge, Missouri; two sons, Curtis Richardson, Jr., and his wife, Ruth, of Eldridge, Missouri, and Christopher Richardson, and his wife, Glenna, of Lebanon, Missouri; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Don Richardson, and his wife, Susan, Ken Dark, all of the State of Kansas, and Jerry Dark, and his wife, Donna, of the State of North Carolina; two sisters, Gloria Clayborn, and her husband, Donald, and Kathy Bailey, and her husband, Lee, all of the State of Kansas; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Laclede County, Missouri. After Curtis and Rosetta were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area and lovingly raised their family. Later, he and Rosetta moved to the Eldridge community and made their home. Throughout the years, Curtis worked in the logging and sawmill business and enjoyed cutting wood.
Curtis had professed his faith in Christ and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, working on old cars, listening to country music and dancing. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Curtis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the memories he made for them during his lifetime.
