Daisy Leona Crews (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Daisy Leona Crews, daughter of John and Sylvia Franks Crumpler, was born September 15, 1928, in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma. She departed this life Monday, May 27, 2019, in her home, near Adrian, Missouri, at the age of ninety years, eight months, and twelve days.
On September 1, 1949, she was united in marriage to Robert J. Crews, Jr., and to this union one daughter and three sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert, in 2008; a son, Steve Crews; three brothers, J. B., Kenny, and Sam Crumpler; and two sisters, Maggie Threlkeld, and Polly Raymond.
Daisy is survived by a daughter, Cindy Crews Johnson, of Springfield, Missouri; two sons, Robert Crews, of Adrian, Missouri, and Ricky David Crews, and his wife, Carolyn, of Basehor, Kansas; six grandchildren, Bobby, Cody, Toby, Candace, Ashley, and Patrick; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Oklahoma, where she graduated from high school. After she and Robert were married, they moved to Texas and made their home in Paris, Fort Worth, San Antonio and Austin areas for several years. The family then made their home in the Kansas City, Missouri area for forty-seven years, and Daisy was a devoted homemaker and mother to her children. After retiring, she and Robert moved to Lebanon and enjoyed their retirement years.
Daisy was an active member of Harvest Tabernacle – United Pentecostal Church in Lebanon.
In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and crocheting and had a fondness for horses. She had been a wonderful caregiver to her husband during his last illness. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Daisy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
A memorial has been established for Harvest Tabernacle Church.
