Daisy Griffin's Obituary
Daisy Marie Griffin, age 86, of Fair Play, Missouri passed away on Wednesday morning, December 22, 2010 at Citizen?s Memorial Healthcare Facility in Bolivar, Missouri.
She was born November 11, 1924 in Polk County, Missouri to Samuel Travis Akins and Lela Ruth (Rickman) Akins.
Daisy graduated from Fair Play High School in 1942.
On October 5, 1946 she married Billy Griffin in Polk County, Missouri.
Daisy was a Bank Teller for Southwest Bank of Polk County for 20+ years retiring in 1991. She was a member of the Fair Play United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Griffin in January 1980, one son, William Ronald Griffin in May 2001 and a brother, Wilbert Akins.
Daisy is survived by her son, Terry M. Griffin and his wife Juanita of Fair Play, Missouri, two sisters, Margie Dorth of Independence, Missouri, Joetta Fleeman of Fair Play, Missouri, four grandchildren, Bryan Griffin, Bethany McGuire, Denna Garzee, Dusty Garzee, 12 great grandchildren and 6 great, great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Friday, December 24, 2010 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri with Reverend Jodi Burch officiating. Musical selections will be "He Hideth My Soul" and "I'll Fly Away" by Chris Taylor. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery South of Fair Play, Missouri. No visitation will be held. Pallbearers will be Rodney Fleeman, James Fleeman, Dusty Garzee, Bryan Griffin, Johnny Roark and Ed Mitchell.
