Daisy "Joan" Coltrane (Hartville)'s Obituary
Daisy Joan Coltrane, daughter of William and Edna Pearl Umlauf Wilson, was born April 11, 1935 in Niangua, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, January 20, 2015 in her home, at the age of seventy-nine years, nine months, and nine days.
On May 2, 1954, Joan was united in marriage to Dwayne Leroy Coltrane and to this union three children were born.
Her parents; her husband, Dwayne, on July 16, 2005; and her siblings, Cleta, Aleta, Richard, Bernie, Bill, Bob, and Gene preceded her in death.
Joan is survived by her children, Vickie Harris and husband Gary of Hartville, Missouri, Rick Coltrane and wife Kay of Marshfield, Missouri, and Wayne Coltrane and wife Peggy of Hartville, Missouri; her grandchildren, Karen Andrews, Felicia Smrekar and husband Ron, Ricky Coltrane and wife Amy, Sarah Haefner and husband Randy, Brandy Buttram and husband John, Mae Kabage and husband Jason, Dan Dudley and wife Adreanne, and Mindy Stigall and husband Adam; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Braden, Brennan, Whitley, Jacob, Victoria, Tasha, Nick, Scooter, Maddy, Hunter, Sheldon, Easton, Peyton, Addison, Kota; step-great-grandchildren, Megan, Kevin, Alyssa, Seth, Trythani, and Nikki; two brothers Rod Wilson and wife Jo of Polo, Missouri, and Rex Wilson and wife Frannie of Grandview, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Irene Wilson of Cowgill, Missouri; a niece, Melanie Wynn of Hartville, Missouri; special friends, James and Marilyn Dudley of Neosho, Missouri, and Chris Rogers of Manes, Missouri; a number of nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Joan spent her younger years living in the Niangua-Grovespring area and attended Klondike Grade School. She moved to Kansas City for a short period of time before moving to the Little Creek area. She would spend the rest of her life living on her farm near Little Creek.
In her younger years, Joan enjoyed dancing to the sounds of the Manes Music Makers, which her husband Dwayne was a member. She was also a member of the Quilting Club, and worked with Newborns in Need.
In her spare time, Joan enjoyed gardening, working in her flowerbed, sewing, quilting, and embroidering. Spending time with her family was very important to her.
Joan was a loving mom, grandma, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories she has created for her family and friends.
