Daisy Jones (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Daisy Luella “Della” Jones, daughter of Benjamin Harris and Vena Mae Mooney Wilson, was born September 2, 1937, in Rogersville, Missouri. She departed this life Monday, December 17, 2012, in Sarcoxie Nursing Home, in Sarcoxie, Missouri, at the age of seventy-five years, three months, and fifteen days.
On December 17, 1954, she was united in marriage to John William Jones, Sr., and to this union three sons were born.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John, on July 7, 1999; a son, John William Jones, Jr.; a brother, Eddie; and a sister, Sue.
Daisy is survived by two sons, Ben Jones, of Camdenton, Missouri, and Stanley W. Jones, of Chesapeake, Virginia; four grandchildren, Amy, Angela, Arthur, and John, Jr.; five great-grandchildren, William, Laura, Travis, Katelin, and Faith; a sister, Geraldine Willoughby, of Sarcoxie, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in Bois D Arc, Missouri, and graduated from high school there. After she and John were married, they made their home in various locations while he served in the United States Air Force. They lived in Japan, Germany, and Italy, as well as other places within the United States. Eventually, they made their home in Sarcoxie, Missouri, and then moved to Lebanon in 1998. Throughout the years, Della was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family.
Daisy had attended a Bible study at a Church of Christ.
In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, and was an avid reader. She enjoyed listening to music, and was a fan of the Grand Ole Opry. She also liked visiting with her friends and neighbors at Vernon Heights. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Daisy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
