Daisy Reukauf's Obituary
Daisy Lenora Reukauf, daughter of Archie and Clara Oetting Wilcox, was born January 29, 1916, in Mansfield, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, January 20, 2006, in Rocky Ridge Manor, in Mansfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-nine years, eleven months, and twenty-one days. On November 17, 1934, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Reukauf, and to this union one daughter was born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence, on December 31, 1993; and a sister, Edith “Pete” Kirby. Daisy is survived by a daughter, Pat Smith, and her husband, Dave, of Springfield, Missouri; a granddaughter, Pamela Smith-Rodden, and her husband, Martin, of Portsmouth, Virginia; a grandson, Douglas Smith, of Springfield, Missouri; three great-grandchildren, Nicole Smith, Kate and Wilson Rodden; two sisters, Hazel Clark, and Madge Matlock, and her husband, Loman, all of Mansfield, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Mansfield community, and attended Oetting School. After she and Lawrence were married, they made their home near Mansfield, and lovingly raised their daughter. Besides being a devoted homemaker to her family, Daisy did sewing in her home, owned and operated a ceramic shop, and retired from Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Factory. Daisy had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mansfield United Methodist Church. She was an excellent seamstress and had created many beautiful pieces of clothing, including several wedding gowns. She also was a gifted artist and a wonderful cook. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Daisy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the special memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2006, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Mansfield. Burial will be in the Mansfield Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 (noon) until service time on Tuesday. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Mansfield, Missouri.
