Dale E. Ball (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Dale Eugene Ball, age 68, of Pleasant Hope, Missouri, passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 29, 2014, at Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, after a long illness.
Dale was born on April 18, 1946, in Humansville, Missouri, to Elmer C. and Lois Maxine (Ludwick) Ball. He grew up in the area, and graduated from Bolivar High School in 1965, but failed to walk across the stage, because he was recovering from a car accident. This accident would prove to change his life, and his physical needs. He worked several jobs, all auto related, including almost fifteen years in a bread truck as a delivery man, before finding his place as a mechanic.
He married Joyce Crouch in 1967 and began his family that year in Fair Grove. Together they had two children; Kimberly and Kenneth.
Dale worked at a few service stations before finding his home at Bollinger Service Station, where he stayed until he retired. He always had a car to be fixing, even when he was not work, he could be found repairing cars for friends and family.
Dale was known to his family as a bit of a jokester, but often received as much as he gave. He also greatly enjoyed fishing and was a member of the BASS Fishing Club, as well as the Sons of the AMVETS, where he was very active in Post #178, in Brighton. His other pleasure in life was his garden. Every year it was planned to not be a big affair, but somehow managed to be about ten times bigger than planned. He also enjoyed playing pool, and just having a good time, but most of all, dancing. He appreciated the two-step most, and would stay out late, even with his young children, dancing into the night.
He was always considered to a be a charismatic man, but had recently settled down and spent the last fifteen years with his significant other, Betty Eubanks, at their home in Pleasant Hope.
Dale is preceded in death by; his parents Elmer and Lois; a brother, Terry; and one niece, Angela Ciston.
He is survived by; a daughter, Kim Woods, and husband, David, of Willard, Missouri; a son, Kenneth Ball, and wife, Kristi, of Everton, Missouri; grandchildren, Bradon Woods, Keshia Woods, and partner Coty Blevins, and Greyson Ball; great-grandchildren, Kaily Woods, and Mia Blevins; one brother, Charley Ball, and his wife, Shirley, of Brighton, Missouri; two sisters, Judy Doughterty, of Willard, Missouri, and Carolyn Ball, of Springfield, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Carroll Ball, of Kansas City, Missouri; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.
